Another relaxed day, just the last lock down from the Middlewich arm and the locks through Middlewich and then a gentle cruise back to the boatyard! We stopped for lunch at Broken Cross and then onwards. Arrived back at the boatyard about 1700 and a few showers. We travelled 80.6 miles (give or take tunnels where there was no signal) in a total driving time of 32 hours and 32 seconds. So, that’s it! The last canal holiday in this format, some of the members of the gang have decided hang up their windlasses. It all started in 1976 for some so it’s been a good run and “anno domini” is catching up a bit.
